New Rates effective January 1, 2026
Dear Customers,
We have received several calls regarding higher water bills that were mailed on February 9, 2026, and we want to provide some clarity.
The increase you see reflects water rates and fixed charges that went into effect on January 1, 2026, as part of the rate schedule approved under Proposition 218. Because our utility bills are 30 days in arrears, the February billing is the first to reflect these updated rates.
Each year, the District holds a meeting in December for the Board of Directors to review and determine whether the prop 218 schedule rate adjustment will be implemented. These adjustments were established through a Proposition 218 hearing conducted in December 2023, which approved a multi-year rate structure to fund 75% of the infrature improvements per our capital improvement plan.
While we understand that rate increases are never welcome, these adjustments are essential to keep pace with infrastructure needs — all while maintaining safe and dependable water service for our community.
We encourage customers to attend our Board meetings or review posted notices to stay informed about future decisions that may affect rates. Meeting dates, agendas, and additional information are always available to the public via our webiste.
If you have specific questions about your bill, I am happy to help — please feel free to contact our office directly.
Thank you for your understanding and for being a valued customer.
